The book examines the history of the Ibadi prosopographical (siyar) tradition in northern Africa, arguing for the crucial role of these texts in the formation of an Ibadi tradition in the Maghrib. The argument is built using tools borrowed from network analysis and codicology, offering a new way to think about religious community formation.
